Workshop One - Research - Beryl Cook

Beryl Cook's work has always been a favorite of mine I chose to research her for this workshop because Beryl Cook has a way of capturing life in a moment of time through drawing that only gives a feel of the moment but also the fun side of the moment through the strong characters and facial expressions. Instead of capturing the moment in time through photography like Herni Cartier Bresson.

Workshop One - Research - Lucinda Rodgers

I like Lucinda Rodgers style of work particularly how she has captured the detail of people and buidlings in some cases with a quick pen outline not always going into detail. I like this approach a quick drawing method because you don't end up worrying about getting all the proportions of the person or building accurate you only concern yourself with what you can see and get done in the time scale you have. Which makes you slowly become over time better at drawing quickly and perhaps being able to add in further detail to the drawing at a later stage. I feel looking at Lucinda Rodgers work has provided me with confidence to not worry about getting every detail correct but purely about the environment people are in and capturing them in that time frame.
